Background Information: An Municipal Service Taxing Unit (MSTU) is a special taxing district used to fund local services including: fire, roads, or parks in unincorporated areas, through property taxes (ad valorem).

The Palm Beach County Fire Rescuse is proposing a bill revisitng the process of the funding received and fire services provided to annexed properties by municipalities. The bill is being sponsored by Representative John Synder. The League opposes the orginal bill. The following municipalities have passed resolutions also in opposition.
