League Establishes Scholarship Fund

Source: Palm Beach County League of Cities Date: November 7, 2012 The Palm Beach County League of Cities has partnered with the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, Inc. to establish a scholarship fund for the William A. Cruickshank Scholarship program. The Foundation has 501(c)(3) status, able to accept donations from anyone for the scholarship program. Candidates for elected office are able to donate excess campaign funds in accordance with Sec. 106.141(4)(a) Florida Statutes. The William A. Cruickshank Scholarship program provides up to $1,000.00 in individual scholarships for expenses associated with academic endeavors to qualified high school seniors demonstrating a dedicated pursuit towards a career in governmental, public service and or public administration, as evidenced by involvement in course of study, work and volunteer service or internships in public, governmental, community and/or legislative environments. Also eligible are municipal employees pursuing continuing education in these fields. For information on how to contribute, please contact the League office at 561-355-4484.
