We thank the City of Boynton Beach for hosting the League meetings at the Benvenuto Caterestaurant.

Board Meeting

The board heard committee reports from the Florida League of Cities and National League of Cities Policy Committees along with the Legislative Committee.

The board made the appointments to the 2018 Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council League of Cities representatives. The board also appointed Vice Mayor Lawrence Gordon as chair of the Scholarship Committee.

Executive Director Richard Radcliffe reminded the board that the Tri-Cities Barbeque will be held on Friday December 7th. He reminded everyone to bring an unwrapped toy for the Glades Toy Drive.

General Membership Boynton Beach Mayor Steve Grant welcomed the membership to Boynton Beach.

The Literacy Coalition's Read for the Record results were revealed. For the first time ever there were two winners for the large city category (City of Boynton Beach and the Village of Wellington. The winner for the small city category was the Town of Lantana.

Our featured speaker was Executice Director Glen Jergensen of the Tourist Delevlopment Board who spoke on The Nature of Tourism "How Tourism Effects Your City and Managing the Impact of Hurricanes, Red Tide and More on Your Tourist Trade".

Next month there will be no League meeting. We will be at the Belle Glade on December 7th for the Tri-Cities Barbeque. The next League meeting will be in Wellington at the Equesterian Center on January 23rd.
